Reiki is a gentle, hands-on energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports overall well-being. Originating in Japan, Reiki involves channeling universal life force energy through the practitioner’s hands to help restore balance within the body and support natural healing processes. 


During a Reiki session, the practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above the recipient’s body in a series of positions. The practitioner serves as a conduit for universal life force energy, which flows into the recipient and helps to balance their physical, emotional, and spiritual state. The energy has an innate intelligence, directing itself to where it is most needed. 


You’ll lie down fully clothed in a comfortable position. The practitioner will place their hands lightly on or above various parts of your body. You may experience sensations like warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and can help with stress relief, emotional balance, and general well-being. 


A typical Reiki session lasts about 60 minutes 


Yes, Reiki is a safe and non-invasive therapy. It is gentle and works with the body’s own energy systems to promote healing. It is suitable for people of all ages and can complement other forms of treatment. 


The number of sessions needed varies from person to person. Some may feel significant benefits after just one session, while others may find ongoing sessions helpful for maintaining balance and well-being. Your practitioner can provide recommendations based on your specific needs and goals. 


There are no specific preparations needed before a Reiki session. After the session, it’s helpful to drink plenty of water and allow yourself some time to rest and integrate the experience. It's also beneficial to be open to the sensations and feelings that arise during and after the session.
